Program in details (15 Day)
1
Arrival in Hanoi - City Tour (D)
Arrival at Noi Bai International Airport. Welcome by our French-speaking guide and driver. Transfer to your hotel in the city center for some rest.
Hanoi, the millennial capital of Vietnam, has preserved the charm of the French colonial era. It is renowned for its large shaded avenues, numerous lakes, and well-maintained gardens. The name Hanoi means "the city beyond the river."
Begin your discovery of Hanoi with a stroll through the lively Old Quarter of 36 corporations, such as Hang Bac and Ma May, as well as the typical market with colonial architecture of Dong Xuan. Then, take a one-hour cyclo ride through the old town.
Visit the Jade Mountain Temple (Ngoc Son). This temple is located in the middle of Hoan Kiem Lake (the Lake of the Returned Sword).
Welcome dinner at a local restaurant in town. Overnight at the hotel in Hanoi.
2
Hanoi - Sightseeing (B/L)
Breakfast at the hotel.
Start the day with a visit to the Temple of Literature (Van Mieu). The "First University of Vietnam," Van Mieu, was built in 1070 by Ly Thanh Tong. Intended for princes and mandarins, it housed 116 steles engraved with the names of laureates from 116 doctoral competitions. Today, only 82 steles remain. Van Mieu is a beautiful example of Vietnamese architecture.
Next, visit the lovely Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest in Hanoi and Vietnam, located on the banks of West Lake. The pagoda is renowned as a spiritual center of the capital, as well as for its cultural and architectural importance.
Lunch at a local restaurant featuring Hanoi specialties.
In the afternoon, visit the Ethnography Museum (closed on Mondays), which offers superb collections in welcoming spaces to bring to life the culture of Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups. With 15,000 objects and 42,000 films and photos, the museum is a treasure trove of Vietnamese cultural richness. This place is not only a museum for domestic and foreign visitors, but it is also used for popular festivities, craft fairs, and exchanges between Vietnamese ethnic groups.
Then, attend a water puppet show, a traditional art form from the Red River Delta.
Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel in Hanoi.
3
Hanoi - Mai Chau Valley (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the hotel.
Depart for Mai Chau, a beautiful valley home to the White Thai ethnic group, via Hoa Binh city and the Thung Khe pass at 1200m altitude. Stops for photo opportunities in villages and passes are planned along the way.
Arrive in Mai Chau around noon.
Lunch at a local home with typical Thai dishes.
In the afternoon, take a bike ride or walk through ethnic Thai villages: Lac, Poom Coong, Nhot, and Van. This beautiful bike route (which can be flexible depending on your physical condition) allows you to admire vast rice fields, stilt houses nestled under trees, and meet the White Thai people. With the help of our guide, you will better understand the peaceful life of the villagers as well as their customs and traditions.
Friendly dinner with local dishes.
In the evening, you will attend Thai singing and dancing performances, with the opportunity to taste "ruou can" (rice wine), an alcohol sipped through a bamboo straw. This alcohol is made from glutinous rice supplemented with plants such as ginger, chili, and guava leaves.

4
Mai Chau - Pu Luong Nature Reserve (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the homestay / hotel.
Departure for the Pu Luong Nature Reserve located in the Quan Hoa and Ba Thuoc districts of Thanh Hoa province. Panoramic views of mountains and valleys accompany you throughout the journey.
Upon arrival at Ban Cong (about 10 km before reaching Pu Luong Retreat), stop for a one-hour walk from Ban Cong College to visit the Thai village of Tom. You will pass by water wheels in the river, sugar cane fields, cross two suspension bridges, and end the walk at the village market.
Resume the vehicle and arrive at the Pu Luong Nature Reserve.
With well-preserved landscapes and abundant and diverse flora and fauna, the nature reserve is a fascinating destination for nature lovers. Covering an area of 17,662 ha, it represents the largest karst forest area in North Vietnam, with three main types of forests: lowland jungle, mountain forests, and bamboo and shrub massifs. Upon arrival, visitors can traverse villages clinging to mountain slopes, admire terraced rice fields and lush forests, visit caves, and observe numerous water wheels – hydraulic machines that use the energy produced by the current to raise water for irrigating rice fields.
Check-in to your room at the eco-hotel / homestay (stilt house).
In the afternoon, take an easy hike along the most beautiful walking route in the Pu Luong Nature Reserve (8 km walk).
From your hotel, start walking towards Nong Cong village. From this village, cross terraced rice fields to reach Uoi village, which is home to the most beautiful terraced rice fields in the reserve. Upon arrival in the ancient capital of Vietnam, Hoa Lu, visit the two temples dedicated to the kings of the feudal dynasties of Dinh and Le.
