Hanoi - Hoa Binh - Mai Chau (L,D)
Morning departure for Hoa Binh, after 2 hours of driving, we arrive at the Dam of Black river for a boat trip in "second Halong Bay on land" which the landscapes magical and authentic. We are going to meet the Muong village living on lakeside, they invite us to their home, houses on stilts, with all their hospitality, they will smoke the water pipe and tell us the customs of the people.
Lunch on the way, and then we continue our journey to Mai Chau, a beautiful valley bordered rice, White Thai ethnic.
In the evening, the villagers organized a party to welcome us after dinner prepared by Thai women, we are invited to join in the folk dance of five ethnic groups and taste the local wine (fermented glutinous rice combined with roots of medicinal herbs). Night at Thai's house on stilts.
Mai Chau - Hang Kia (B,L,D) Height difference 600m - 1000m = 5h of walk
Morning, we discover the daily life and cultures of specific Thais, during a walk in the villages in Mai Chau and transfer to the H'mong village of Ban Xa Linh.
Trek to Hang Kia village located in a high valley where the H'mong cultivates corn and plum.
Dinner and overnight at the homestay.
Trek Hang Kia - Cun Pheo (B,L,D)
After climbing the sloping road gently and then we drive suddenly in the jungle where only the hunters and mountaineers seeking frequently the dry wood. We descend the steep slopes cultivated by the H' mong.
After passing, we cross the rice fields to find the White Thai bottom.
Dinner and overnight on their house on stilts.
Cun Pheo/Trek - Van Mai (B,L,D) Height difference 400 - 600m = 6h of walk
Morning, the use of premises for work in the fields was not allowed to wake up late. We cross White Thai villages along the way. All the houses here have in common: they lean against the mountains and turn towards the fields.
Front of the houses there are fruit orchards, barns and ponds for fish farming. The Thais are very hospitable and often offer fish dishes to their guests. The hike is on the flat and easy paths. Meals and overnight at homestay in Van Mai, Thai White beautiful village located in the heart of Mai Chau valley, surrounded by lush paddy fields.
Van Mai - Ma River - Ninh Binh (B,L,D)
The village of Van Mai is only 5 km from over the river, whose the banks are covered with bamboo forests, we descend bamboo raft in the direction towards the region of Quan Hoa. The activity related to bamboo is very important in this region.
Making rafts is a good way to transport bamboos to large areas of the plain. Then off to Ninh Binh, where we continue to go to Tam Coc. Overnight at the local hostel in Tam Coc.
Tam Coc - Kenh Ga - Cuc Phuong Park (B,L,D)
Morning, we take a sampan to visit the caves of Tam Coc also known as the "Halong bay on land" with many limestone peaks covered with lush vegetation. Then en route to Nho Quan where we make a boat trip to Kenh Ga village, a floating village of 300 Catholics cultivate fish farming to live off by moving boats or cement sampans! Lunch of local specialties in a restaurant in the middle of rice fields is also another interesting souvenir. Afternoon, drive to Cuc Phuong, this primeval forest was discovered in 1960 and recognized as a National Park in 1962. We discover the cave of prehistoric men. The park is home to over 2,000 species of plants and herbs, 262 species of animals. A walk in the forest allows us to discover the richness of nature where valuable genes boars, squirrels, deer, macaques are preserved yellow, etc. .. We return to Ninh Binh in the late afternoon. Ninh Binh - Red River Delta - Halong Bay (B,L,D)
08h00: Depart to Halong Bay, just after half an hour's drive, we visit a carpentry village, where people carve from generation to generation the furniture and decorative items made of wood, often covered by the fine pieces of oyster. We continue our journey in the Delta region along fertile Red River, admiring the beautiful scenery of rice fields and tobacco fields in Nam Dinh, Thai Binh and Hai Phong provinces.
Arrival in Halong at noon, boarding boat cruise for 5 visit hours: Surprise Cave, we admire the various forms created by the stalactites and stalagmites.
Lunch on the boat. An extraordinary landscape, "one of the wonders of the world", nearly three miles of limestone islands and fantastic shapes: turtle, sailing sampan, etc ... scattered in the emerald water with a surface of 1,500 km². We then climb to the top of the Ti Top peak, the beauty of Halong Bay is under our feet, 428 steps worth happiness, be well note that Ho Chi Minh arrived there when he was 72 years old! Halong Bay - Cat Ba - Viet Hai (B,L,D) 5h of walk
Morning: After visiting the beautiful Lan Ha bay, farms of pearl oysters and floating fishing village, we land in Cat Ba Island, the largest island in Halong Bay. Possibility of swimming on the sandy beach of Cat Ba.
Afternoon we take a walk through the national park of Cat Ba to discover the vegetation of the tropical jungle, after 5 hours of walking, we reach the village of fisherman, Viet Hai. A very authentic landscape: the old houses in the middle of rice fields surrounded by limestone peaks hiding a long history of sea pirates for centuries.
Overnight at a homestay is an opportunity to discover the ancestral Viet's life.
Viet Hai - Cat Ba Town - Hai Phong - Hanoi (B,L)
Morning: We say goodbye to hospital villagers and continue our walk towards the door of the village where our small boat waiting for us to return to Cat Ba. During the cruise, we admire the Lan Ha Bay. Arrival in Cat Ba noon.
After lunch at Cat Ba, we ship aboard the hydrofoil to Hai Phong where our driver awaits us and we return to Hanoi.
