Duong Lam village visit and sightseeing
At 08:00AM get picked up by your guide and driver to go 50km west of Hanoi to Duong Lam village. This village is strongly inspired by Vietnamese traditional culture, and has nearly 1,000 old houses constructed more than 370 years ago. A large number of ancient houses were built with laterite and ironwood pillars gives the village a very special ancient beauty. Most the houses maintained fences, gates, courtyard, gardens, the main house, outbuildings, kitchens, ranches, etc which are familiar specifically to the image of Thang Long – Hanoi. Surrounding the village is the system of ponds creating charming scenery, which helps to reduce the heat of summer during extremely hot days of the North.
Get on a bike and you will make the first stop at Mong Phu village gate the oldest architectural feature of Duong Lam Ancient Village. This gate was built in the Le Dynasty, with laterite pillars and ironwood gate. Next you will visit Mong Phu communal house, Giang Van Minh worship house, Duong Lam ancient well, Phung Hung temple, Ngo Quyen temple.
Enjoy special Vietnamese lunch prepared by the host. While you are in the house you can also join the local people in producing local specialties such as soft green-lentil cake and rice cake filled with brown onion and enjoy these dishes (depend on the season of the year). Continue to visit Mia Pagoda – built in 15th century and admire 287 statues of all sizes before transferring back to your hotel in Hanoi.
