Hanoi arrival & visit (L,D)

Arrival at Hanoi airport. Welcome by your guide and driver then transfer to Hanoi capital of Vietnam. The city has retained the ancient charm of the French colonial era. Its face has not changed much in decades. This is probably the most charming city of Vietnam with all its authenticity, large shady avenues, numerous lakes and manicured gardens.
 
After lunch at a local restaurant you will make the first visit at Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (from outside) which dominates Ba Dinh Square.

 

Then visit the Temple of Literature dedicated to Confucius and his disciples. This complex was the first Vietnamese University.

In the evening welcome dinner at local restaurant.
 
Overnight in Hanoi.

Hanoi - Halong bay on land (Ninh Binh) (B,L,D)

Breakfast at hotel.
 
Morning, you visit the Museum of Ethnology and then road to Ninh Binh also called Halong Bay on land (about 2h = 110km). Once arrived, you make a very pretty ride by rowing sampan to visit Thien Ha Cave to Thung Nham which isn't yet touched by the mass tourists. 
 

Lunch at a local restaurant and then a bike ride to discover this beautiful region surrounded by authentic villages. Visit the Bich Dong Pagoda and the Temple of Thai Vi. 

Dinner and overnight in Ninh Binh.

Ninh Binh - legendary Halong (B,L,D)

Depart from Ninh Binh in the early morning for Halong Bay, we cross the traditional Vietnamese countryside in the Red River Delta: villages, markets, rice fields, all is complemented by the daily life of peasants. Arrive in Halong at noon, boarding the junk for 24 hours cruise in the bay.


Lunch on board. An extraordinary landscape, "one of the wonders of the world", nearly three miles limestone small islands and fantastic types: turtle, sailing, etc ... sampan scattered emerald water with an area of 1500 km².


Stop at the Suprise Cave, we were thrown into a mysterious atmosphere by thousands stalagmites and stalactites, ascension the top of the Titov island or beach swimming if time permits. Admire the sunset on the upper deck of the Junk. Seafood dinner with chapels and overnight on board.

Halong bay - Hanoi - Hue (B,L,D)

After breakfast, the cruise continue to pass beautiful places in the bay in return direction, and before landing, we take early Brunch on board.


Return to Hanoi and go directly the airport for your flight to Hue. Stopover to visit a workshop of ceramics factory and a school for the training of traditional artisan crafts of Vietnam.


Arrive in Hue, welcome by local guide and transfer to hotel. Overnight in Hue.

Hue/Visits and sightseeings (B,L,D)

Breakfast at hotel.

Morning, we start the city tour by boat trip to Thien Mu Pagoda on the banks of the Perfume River. Our cruise takes us to Minh Mang tomb, this majestic tomb reflects the oriental philosophy: the harmony between man and nature. Lunch at local restaurant.


In the afternoon, we visit a village of making conical hats and incense fighting and the tomb of Emperor Tu Duc amidst frangipani trees and pines, this isn't a simple tomb, we talk the advantage idea of eternal life than death. Visit the Imperial Citadel, built between 1805 and 1832 under the model of the Chinese imperial palace.


At the end of the day, walk to Dong Ba market where we will find the most beautiful conical hats in Vietnam.


Enjoy the Royal Diner: we are in the costumes of the emperors, queens, princes, and princesses, imperial taste the dishes accompanied by traditional music (for groups from 10 people, you take this royal dinner with the costumes).

Hue - Hai Van (Clouds) pass - Hoi an (B,L,D)

Breakfast at hotel.

Morning we drive to Danang via the famous Hai Van pass (Cloud pass). We will have a beautiful view of 12 km of Lang Co beach. In Danang, we visit the Cham Museum (built-in 1916) famous civilization of the Champa kingdom. And the Marble Mountain, next to the most beautiful beach in Vietnam.


Continue to Hoi An, which previous called Faifo, was among the most active commercial ports of the 17th and 18th centuries from all over Asia: Chinese, Portuguese, Japanese, Indonesian, French and Dutch. Declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1999, this charming city fascinates us not only by the authenticity of architecture, romantic landscapes of the river and the beach but especially by the amazing light lanterns after sunset. 

We visit the old and traditional Vietnamese house, an Assembly Hall of the Fujian Chinese Congregation, Japanese bridge in the old neighborhood. 

Dinner at local restaurant in town and overnight at hotel in Hoi An.

Hoi An - Danang - Saigon (B,L,D)

In the morning, a bike ride to see the people working and then back to the hotel to check-out before having lunch at a local restaurant.

Transfer to Danang airport for the flight to Saigon. Arrive in Saigon, greeted by the local team and then transfer to the hotel to rest and then dinner at the local restaurant.
 
Overnight in Saigon.

Saigon - Mekong - Ben Tre (B,L,D)

Breakfast at hotel.

At 08:30AM meet with your guide and driver the we head to Mekong Delta.

Arrival to Ben Tre, you start visiting local workshops such as brickmaking using the traditional printing and firing technique. You'll also visit one of the many coconut processing workshops located along the canal. Follow the natural streams, which gradually narrow as they flow towards the village.

Stroll to a family workshop where mattresses are made, and enjoy some fruit and tea.

Lunch will feature local specialties, including elephant ear fish.

Enjoy a sampan ride along the canal.

Afternoon, enjoy bike ride around village.
 
Overnight at hotel in Ben Tre.

Ben Tre - Sadec - Can Tho (B,L,D)

Breakfast at hotel.

Morning we take the road to Sa Dec - a beautiful city, well known by the life of Mrs. Marguerite Duras. Visit the Lover's house, the 125-year-old house that combines French and Chinese architectural styles. The property belonged to Huynh Thuy Le, a rich Chinese-Vietnamese trader who was the inspiration of the male protagonist in the famous novel "The Lover" (L'Amant) by Marguerite Duras. Visit the typical local market. 

Afternoon, continue the road to Can Tho with stop to visit and take pictures along the way. 
 
Dinner and overnight in Can Tho.

Can Tho floating market - Saigon (B,L,D)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Morning at 08AM (or earlier) departure to see the most typical floating market of the Mekong – the Cai Rang market.

Located 5km from the center of Can Tho town, Cai Rang is a wholesale market with a myriad of boats loaded with watermelons, mangoes, bananas, papayas, pineapples, onions, etc. The main items sold there are agricultural products and regional specialties. Many producers and farmers come here to sell their harvest to wholesalers. If the first boats arrive very early in the morning, the Cai Rang market is in full swing a little later, around 7 or 8 a.m.

Continue cruise to a beautiful ecological garden to visit the exotic fruit, you make a tasting of these exotic fruits and then landing the local market on the banks before making the return journey to Saigon.

Saigon - Tay Ninh - Cu Chi - Saigon (B,L,D)

Breakfast at hotel.

Morning we drive to Tay Ninh, where there is the largest Cao Dai temple, an amazing religion, unique and pure in Vietnam. With more than two million followers, mostly in the South. We have the opportunity to attend the noon Mass and see all the great men of the world: Kumauni, Confucius, Jesus Christ, Lao Tseu even Jeanne d'Arc, Victor Hugo, Lenin, etc ... symbolizes the philosophy "all religions are moving towards the same path". 

After lunch, we continue towards the Cu Chi tunnels. Known by the name "Iron Triangle" and the "Free Fire Zone", these tunnels allowed the zone controlled by Viet Cong to communicate among them when they were isolated by the Americans and their South Vietnamese ally. They also provided shelter to the population during air attacks. The Vietcong soldiers lived there under extremely harsh conditions, they are the living proof of the patriotism of Vietnamese people.

Back to Ho Chi Minh City in late afternoon. Night at a hotel.

Saigon/City tour - Departure (B,L)

Morning, you'll visit and discover the city: The Cathedral of Notre Dame, red brick building in neo-Romanesque style, which was consecrated in 1880. The station was built by Gustave Eiffel, the Opera House and City Hall with beautiful architecture and then departure for a walk in Chinatown Cho Lon.

A multitude of small family businesses thrives today in this "China town" dedicated to trading and money. The richly decorated pagodas and Chinese temples are very different in style of Vietnamese sanctuaries.

Visit the Thien Hau Pagoda and Binh Tay Market wholesalers. Free time for last-minute shopping before transfer to Saigon International airport for your departure flight.
