Program in details (12 days)

  • Days 1

    Hanoi - Pan Hou/Ha Giang (L/D)

    The guide and the driver pick up at the hotel around 8h00 and then depart to Pan Hou (Ha Giang) for 6h. Stop on the way for rest or possibly visiting the local market. 

    On arrival at Ha Giang, you take direction to Pan Hou and then the preparations for the trek. Night at Pan Hou.

  • Days 2

    Pan Hou - Thong Nguyen - Nam Hong (B/L/D)

    Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Thong Nguyen, then a trek to the Nam Hong village. This first day's walk is only a light trek. On the way, you pass the first Red Zao and Zao and long tunic living on surrounding heights, always wear their traditional clothing. The valleys landlocked of the North Tonkin where you cross, the ethnic people of diverse origins: Chinese, Tibeto-Burmese, Thai Kadai settled down successfully. 

    In the afternoon, you reach the hamlet where you spend the first night.

  • Days 3

    Nam Hong - Nam Son (B/L/D)

    Nam Hong, you hike to the Red Zao village of Khau Loa along the way that winds through the rice terraces. You make a stop in beautiful old tea bushes before crossing the first bamboo forests. 

    You take the time to enjoy this impressive landscape. The Ban Le waterfall allows you a refreshing break before resuming the way towards the village of Nam Son

  • Days 4

    Nam Son - Ho San (B/L/D)

    Morning, you make the trek to the Ho San village. You meet a new ethnic minority, the Nung, in which you stop for the night. You are warmly welcomed by the family of Lee in a big beautiful house on stilts.

  • Days 5

    Ho San - Chien Thang (B/L/D)

    Today, you hike over a vertiginous landscape of rice paddies that sculpt this high mountain region. You cross the road of Nung, balancing on the skirts of mountains, cultivating the land with the family to plant cassava or maize. In the late afternoon, you arrive in the beautiful Red Zao village of Chien Thang to spend the night.

  • Days 6

    Chien Thang - Trung Thanh (B/L/D)

    This morning, you climb Quang Ha pass. You cross a forest where the climate and humidity are the ideal conditions of moisture for the ferns tree, wild orchids and ficus to grow. At the pass, you reach the peak of your trek. 

    In the early afternoon, you will find a landscape of terraced rice fields lying on the slopes of the North West of the Massive.

  • Days 7

    Trung Thanh - Dan Dien (B/L/D)

    The Trung Thanh area offers a beautiful landscape. With these colours, the smells, you begin a descent between rice fields and small forests to join Dan Dien. 

    You admire the beautiful red flamboyant whose roots have the particularity to be born sources.

  • Days 8

    Dan Dien - Coc Pai - Hoang Su Phi - Pan Hou (B/L/D)

    Morning departure to the Coc Pai village, meetings the Hmongs, the Latchis and the Nung who visit the Sunday market to exchange, buy food or simply need to meet the other. 

    After a quick visit at the Coc Pai confidential market, you made road until the largest market in the region: sugar breadsticks of incense, spices with Chinese pharmacopeia, be guided by your senses. 

    Back to Pan Hou Lodge hotel for a relaxing evening.

  • Days 9

    Pan Hou - Hai Phong (B/L/D)

    After breakfast, spending a whole day on the road to Hai Phong about 7 hours drive. Lunch on the road.

    A photo stop is planned. Arrive at Hai Phong in the late afternoon. Free in the evening for exploring this beautiful city.

  • Days 10

    Hai Phong - Cat Ba (B/L/D)

    Morning, around 9h20: take the hydrofoil speedboat to the Cat Ba Island (one hour). Arrival in Cat Ba, take a cruise in Cat Ba bay towards the entrance of the national park having the same name. At the end of the day, visit the village before returning to the bungalow near the beach.

  • Days 11

    Cat Ba - Halong (B/L/D)

    You board a private junk for cruising in Lan Ha bay much less crowded and more authentic than the traditional ones in Halong Bay. You navigate the maze of channels formed by the hundreds of navigates present in the bay. 

    You make a stopover on a floating village and take the time to kayak in this wonderful environment. In the late afternoon, you approach another junk or spend the night.

  • Days 12

    Halong - Hanoi (B/L/D)

    Morning, the continuation of the cruise among the spectacular formed of limestone. According to the legend, many islands are in fact the curves of the body of a dragon excess water. 

    Landing on Sung Sot cave where you visit the most beautiful cave in Halong. Disembark at noon, your driver picks you up at the port and then drive back to Hanoi. Dinner libre and your own arrangement for accommodation (or option arranged by us).
